Biography

Professor Gady Jacoby is the Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus. Before joining UBC, he held significant academic leadership roles, including Associate Dean of Research for Graduate Programs at the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business from January 2015 to June 2017. He also served as Interim Dean and then Dean from April 2018 to October 2021. In October 2021, he became the Dean of the School of Economics at the College of Management Academic Studies in Israel before returning to the University of Manitoba in July 2023. Professor Jacoby is an alumnus of Hebrew University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting, followed by a Master’s in Finance. He obtained his PhD in Finance from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto. His research interests include asset pricing, behavioral finance, sustainable finance, and international finance. His work has been published in high-quality journals and has garnered funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He has held prestigious chairs in finance and serves on the editorial boards of several leading finance journals. Additionally, he is a co-founder and co-chair of the Cross Country Perspectives in Finance annual conference and has been involved in organizing special-theme conferences focusing on sustainable finance and financial regulation effectiveness.
