PD Dr. Gaetano Paone graduated in medicine from the University Federico II Naples in 2001 and completed his post-graduation in nuclear medicine in 2005. He worked as a consultant in the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Biophysics at the University Hospital of Creteil, University-Paris XII, until 2009, and at the University Hospital l'Archet in Nice until 2010. He has introduced new Radiometabolic Therapy procedures in Ticino, targeting treatments for metastatic prostate cancer, well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors, and metastatic liver disease (HCC). Paone is an invited speaker at major national and international meetings in the field of oncologic imaging and Theragnostics and is actively involved with the Radiometabolic Therapy Group of the Swiss Society of Nuclear Medicine (SGNM-AG Therapie). He serves as an auditor for the Federal Office Public Health (FOPH) and earned the title of Private Docent in 2022 at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). PD Gaetano Paone is highly regarded for his research activities, with his main interests focusing on positron emission tomography (PET) and hybrid imaging in the teragnostic field, and he has authored multiple articles published in international journals and book chapters.
