Gail Matthews is an Infectious Diseases Physician and Program Head of the Therapeutic Research Vaccine Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW. She also heads the Infectious Diseases department at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. Dr. Matthews completed her PhD in 2009, focusing on therapeutic strategies for HIV and HBV co-infection. She is a UNSW Scientia Fellow and holds a NHMRC Career Development Fellowship. Matthews is a member of several professional societies including the Australian Society for Infectious Diseases and the Australian Society for HIV Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
