Biography

Professor Galen Bodenhausen studies a wide variety of issues involved in consumer cognition, exploring the origins, nature, and consequences of consumer attitudes, both explicit and implicit. His research also investigates the role of identity concerns on judgment and behavior, the influence of prejudice and stereotypes on perception and memory, and how moods and various emotional states impact judgment and preference. He teaches theories of social psychology and principles of social cognition and is a published editor for several journals. He earned his PhD in social psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and has served as both an interim department chair and professor at Kellogg School of Management and the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.
