Biography

Gandhi Puvvada received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1973 from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he was awarded the Siemens Prize for ranking. He completed his M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1987 at the University of Houston, Texas, where he also received a Teaching Excellence Award. Puvvada has extensive industry experience from 1973 to 1985, where he designed, installed, and commissioned Instrumentation Control Systems in the nuclear mining sector. He joined the University of Southern California (USC) in 1987 and has since taught various courses, including Digital Logic Design and Computer Organization. His contributions to digital hardware education earned him the TRW Excellence in Teaching Award in 2002 and the Provost's Prize for Teaching with Technology in 2007 for developing innovative teaching methods using tablet PCs.
