Biography

Garrett Reisman is a professor of Astronautical Engineering at the University of Southern California. He was selected as a NASA mission specialist astronaut in 1998 and flew on two spaceflights to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 2008 and Space Shuttle Atlantis in 2010, during which he conducted three spacewalks and operated the Space Station Robot Arm. After leaving NASA in 2011, he joined SpaceX where he worked under Elon Musk, preparing for human spaceflight as the Director of Space Operations. Currently, he also serves as a Senior Advisor at SpaceX, bringing his extensive experience in space missions and engineering into his teaching and research roles at USC.
