Biography

Garrick Allen completed his PhD at the University of St Andrews in 2015 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the ECM-Apk project at Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal/Bethel. He contributed to the production of a new Greek critical edition of the Book of Revelation. From 2016 to 2020, he was an Associate Professor of New Testament Studies at Dublin City University. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Critical Studies at the University of Glasgow. His notable publications include 'The Book of Revelation and Early Jewish Textual Culture' (Cambridge, 2017), which was awarded the Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise in 2019, and various articles on manuscript studies. Allen's research interests focus on Apocalyptic literature, the Book of Revelation, textual criticism, and the interplay between early Jewish literature and the New Testament. He is currently an Adjunct Fellow at the Centre for Advanced Studies 'Beyond Canon' at the University of Regensburg and serves on the Advisory Board of the UCD Newman Centre for the Study of Religion, collaborating with the ADAPT Centre in Dublin and the University of Pretoria.
