Biography

Gary Entwistle joined the University of Saskatchewan after practicing public accounting with KPMG in both Canada and New Zealand. In 1997, he received his PhD from Western University. His research primarily addresses financial accounting, reporting, and accounting standard setting. He has attracted funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and public accounting firms, and his work has been published in several prestigious journals including the Journal of Accounting and Auditing Finance, Contemporary Accounting Research, and the Journal of Business Ethics. Gary served as President of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association during 2009-2010 and held several leadership roles at the Edwards School of Business, including Associate Dean of Research and Faculty Affairs and the inaugural Director of the Master of Professional Accounting Program. He teaches financial accounting and has developed an undergraduate elective course in financial statement analysis.
