Biography

Gary Epstein-Lubow, MD, is a Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Medical Science, and Health Services, Policy Practice at Brown University. He is a health services investigator and geriatric psychiatrist, providing both outpatient and inpatient services at Butler Hospital in Providence, RI. He is recognized as a national leader in dementia services delivery and currently leads a team focused on dementia-related research and workforce development projects funded by various federal and private organizations. In Rhode Island, he co-leads the Office of Healthy Aging's Alzheimer's Disease Programs Initiative, which aims to enhance the care experience for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. He has been actively involved in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Advisory Council for Alzheimer’s Research, where he contributed to national research efforts in dementia care. A graduate of Brown University, he received his MD in 1997 and a BA in 1989. He teaches Population Clinical Medicine for medical students and provides mentorship for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career scientists.
