Gary J. Feldman is the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Physics, Emeritus, at Harvard University. His research primarily focuses on the experimental study of neutrino oscillations. He is currently involved with the NOvA experiment at Fermilab, which consists of two detectors. The goal of this experiment is to make precise measurements of oscillation parameters, determine the ordering of neutrino masses, investigate CP violation in the lepton sector, and search for new physics beyond the standard model. The NOvA project started taking data in 2016 and is scheduled to continue until 2027. Professor Feldman served as a co-spokesperson for the NOvA experiment during its design, construction, commissioning, and initial data-taking phases over an 11-year period. Although he is now retired and focused on mentoring students and postdocs, he remains an active participant in the NOvA project.
