Biography

Dr. Gary Hunter graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with great distinction in 2004. He completed his neurology residency in 2009 and a fellowship in Neurocritical Care at Western University under the supervision of Dr. Bryan Young in 2010. Dr. Hunter obtained certification in electroencephalography and returned to Saskatoon where he became the program director for the residency program in 2011, a role for which he was recognized as program director of the year in 2016. He is an active member of the Saskatoon Stroke and Epilepsy programs and serves as the medical director for inpatient neurology. His clinical research interests include prognostication in cardiac arrest, seizures in status epilepticus, neurocritical care, and acute stroke. Dr. Hunter is committed to improving outcomes for patients through innovative research and clinical excellence.
