Biography

Gary Paige is a leading figure in architectural practice, holding the title of Professor at the University of Southern California's School of Architecture. As principal of Gary Paige Studio, a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary design firm established in 1985, he has contributed to various fields including architecture, media art installations, furniture, and graphic design. His studio's work investigates the interplay between material and immaterial domains, emphasizing critical spatial inquiry through applied research. Paige's portfolio features award-winning projects such as the architectural installation at the Venice Biennale and the revitalization of the Kappe Library at SCI-Arc. His academic tenure includes serving as the Director of the Undergraduate Program at SCI-Arc and as a Visiting Professor at various institutions including Kyoto Seika University. He currently teaches courses focusing on the cultural context of architecture, specifically examining influences in Spain, as well as field studies centered around technology and materiality in architectural design.
