Biography

Gastón Adrián Crespo Paravano is a Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. He obtained his Licentiate degree in Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires in 2005 and subsequently completed a Master of Nanotechnology and Nanoscience and a Doctorate at the University Rovira Virgili in Tarragona, Spain, in 2007 and 2010, respectively. He served as a postdoctoral assistant in Professor Eric Bakker's group at the University of Geneva from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he became a Maître Assistant, and in 2017 he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at KTH, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020 and to Professor in 2024. His research interests focus on electroanalytical chemistry, membrane transport, the development of electrochemical techniques, and electrochemiluminescent optical sensors for environmental and biomedical applications. He has co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and holds multiple patents.
