Biography

Gaurav S. Sukhatme is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). He holds the Donald M. Alstadt Chair in Advanced Computing and serves as the Director of the USC School of Advanced Computing. Sukhatme has a strong background in robotics, having co-directed the USC Robotics Research Laboratory and the USC Robotic Embedded Systems Laboratory. His research interests focus on networked robots, learning algorithms for robotics, and field robotics. He has received numerous grants from NSF, DARPA, and NASA, and has been recognized as a Fellow of AAAS, AAAI, and IEEE. Among his accolades are several prestigious awards, including the NSF CAREER award and the Okawa Foundation research award. He has published extensively in his field and has served as Editor-in-Chief for Autonomous Robots.
