Dr. Gautam Pant

Biography

Gautam Pant is a Professor in the Business Administration department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he also serves as the Area Chair for Information Systems, Operations, Supply Chain, and Analytics. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, an M.S. in Computer Science from Baylor University, and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai. Before his current role, he was a Professor at the University of Iowa where he contributed significantly to research in his field. He has been actively involved in various editorial roles, including Senior Editor for Information Systems Research and Associate Editor for Service Science. His research interests center on the intersection of technology and business processes, with a focus on machine learning applications in business analytics and the impact of information systems on firm performance. He has published numerous papers in reputable journals, and his work often addresses contemporary challenges in supply chain management and innovation. Gautam is also an experienced instructor and has taught courses on data science analytics, IT in modern organizations, and networked organizations, helping to bridge the gap between theory and practical applications in business.
