Biography

Gayle Ratliff joined the instructional faculty at Northwestern University in fall 2019. She holds degrees from Florida State University (B.S. in Physics), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (S.M. in Engineering Systems), and Illinois Institute of Technology (Ph.D. in Physics, 2015). Prior to joining Northwestern, she served as an adjunct professor of physics at Illinois Institute of Technology and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Adler Planetarium. During her tenure there, she conducted research in high energy astrophysics with the VERITAS Collaboration. In addition to her academic pursuits, Ratliff is a classically trained dancer and actively engages in initiatives that blend dance with science and art.
