Dr. Geert Teisman

Biography

Geert Teisman is a professor of Complex Decision Making Process Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He holds degrees in Transport Sociology, and his PhD thesis focused on the phenomena of complex decision making, particularly in the fields of urban development, transport, and environmental affairs. His thesis was published in 1992 and has had subsequent editions in 1995 and 1998. From 1997 to 2000, he served as a professor of Spatial Planning at the University of Nijmegen before returning to Erasmus University in 2000. Teisman is also actively involved in various scientific research initiatives and practical applications, serving on the Board of Habiforum and as the scientific director of the foundation Living Water, which focuses on water system improvement projects. He is a member of the Executive Board of Netlipse, a European knowledge exchange network specializing in infrastructure project management. Teisman regularly advises governments and private organizations on complex decision making, strategic planning, public-private partnerships, process management, and policy evaluation in metropolitan areas.
