Biography

Gege Wen is an Assistant Professor at Imperial College London, co-appointed to the Department of Earth Science & Engineering and the I-X (Imperial AI) group. His research focuses on developing computational methods to tackle environmental science challenges, particularly in the context of energy transition towards a low-carbon future. Dr. Wen specializes in multiphase flow and transport of CO2 for geological storage, sustainable subsurface energy storage, and applying machine learning to scientific computing. He obtained his Ph.D. in Energy Sciences & Engineering from Stanford University’s Doerr School of Sustainability, where he worked alongside Professor Sally M. Benson. Additionally, he has a Master’s degree in Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology from Stanford University, and a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Mineral Engineering from the University of Toronto. Dr. Wen is also the creator of CCSNet.ai, an AI-based physics simulation tool for CO2 geological storage modeling.
