Biography

Gelareh Mohammadi is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Human-Centered Computing Research Group at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW Sydney. Her research operates at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and computational psychology, with a particular focus on developing accessible and socially intelligent technologies that understand and adapt to users' needs. She earned her PhD in Social Signal Processing at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Idiap Research Institute in Switzerland, focusing on Affective Computing. She also joined the Neuroscience Center at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where she studied the neural basis of emotions before joining UNSW.
