Biography

In 2010, Genevieve Stapleton transitioned to a research career in a lecturer position at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, where she currently serves as Deputy Director for Year 1 of the MBChB undergraduate medical school. Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a PhD in molecular biology, during which she focused on identifying genes involved in memory and cognition in the hippocampus. Her postdoctoral research included studies on intracellular signaling events involved in oocyte meiotic maturation at the University of Washington in Seattle, cancer cell invasion at Beatson Institute in Glasgow, and cuticle formation in C. elegans at the University of Glasgow. Genevieve is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
