Biography

Genevieve Thompson’s research aims to make positive changes to improve care in long-term care settings, focusing on the delivery of high-quality, respectful, and compassionate care for both living and dying individuals. She holds the Canada Research Chair in Person-Directed Living, supported by the Riverview Health Centre and the College of Nursing. Dr. Thompson has extensively published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to book chapters. She serves on multiple committees at the University, Faculty, and College of Nursing levels, and is a board member of Palliative Manitoba. Currently, she teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses in health and qualitative research methods and supervises students interested in elderly care and end-of-life care.
