Dr. Genna Waldman

Biography

Genna Julia Waldman, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at Penn Medicine’s Neurology Department. She has a focus on epilepsy and related neurological conditions, and she serves as the Medical Director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Dr. Waldman completed her medical education at Rush Medical College, followed by a residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and further fellowship training in the same institution. Her clinical practice involves the management of epilepsy in adolescents and adults and the utilization of advanced therapies such as Responsive Neurostimulation and Vagus Nerve Stimulation. Dr. Waldman is actively involved in research aimed at improving neuroprognostication and the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy. She is affiliated with multiple hospitals under the University of Pennsylvania, including Pennsylvania Hospital and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Waldman is a member of professional organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society, where she contributes to research and clinical practice guidelines.
