Biography

Geoff Steeves is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Victoria. He is a Global Faculty Member at the International Space University, where he teaches Space Physical Sciences. Steeves is an elected member of the ISU Academic Council, responsible for overseeing teaching and research activities at the university. He is also a licensed Airline Transport (ATPL) Pilot and a Class 3 Flight Instructor. He completed his Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Alberta, focusing on Ultrafast Microscopy, and continued his studies with an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in the Center for Spintronics and Quantum Computing.
