Dr. Geoffrey Shiflett

Biography

Geoffrey R. Shiflett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California, where he has made significant contributions to the fields of kinematics, dynamics, mechanical systems, computer-aided design, and optimal design techniques. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1978, following a Master's degree in the same field from the same institution in 1974. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Applied Science from Yale University, awarded in 1973. His research interests are centered on the development of innovative methodologies and systems that incorporate micro-electromechanical systems into mechanical designs. Shiflett's work emphasizes the interaction between mechanical principles and advanced computing technologies, promoting cutting-edge practices within engineering education and research.
