Biography

Dr. Geoffrey Wells is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry at University College London. He graduated with honors in Pharmacy from the University of Nottingham in 1993 and pursued a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry at the same institution, under the supervision of Professor Malcolm Stevens, which he completed in 1998. Dr. Wells has a background in postdoctoral research, focusing on anticancer drug discovery projects at the University of Nottingham and later with the Gene Targeted Drug Design Research Group at University College London. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry as Drug Discovery Project Leader at Pharminox Ltd. In October 2007, he joined University College London as a Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2014. His research interests encompass the design, synthesis, and evaluation of anticancer and antimicrobial compounds.
