Georg Rohringer is a Lecturer in Theoretical Physics at King’s College London. He received his PhD from TU Wien, Austria, in 2014 and subsequently spent several years as a postdoctoral researcher. Between 2016 and 2019, he extended his research expertise in strongly correlated electron systems in Moscow. In 2018, he was awarded the Emmy Noether grant from the German Research Foundation, which enabled him to establish his own research group as a junior research group leader. His research group was hosted by the University of Hamburg, where he worked from 2019 until 2024, before joining King’s College London. His research focuses on the theoretical understanding of strongly correlated electron systems, which includes the development of new quantum-field theoretical methods and their numerical implementation. He investigates a variety of physical phenomena ranging from magnetism and high-temperature superconductivity to correlation effects in topological states of matter.
