Biography

Georg Vanberg is the Ernestine Friedl Distinguished Professor in Political Science at Duke University and serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Development at Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 1999. Vanberg's scholarly work focuses on political institutions, courts, legislatures, and coalition governance. He has authored several influential works, including 'Parliaments Coalitions' with Lanny Martin, published by Oxford University Press, and 'Politics Constitutional Review Germany' with Cambridge University Press. His research has been recognized with awards such as the Richard F. Fenno Prize from the American Political Science Association and the Elinor Ostrom Prize for his paper published in the Journal of Politics. Vanberg has also held editorial positions, including editor for the journal Public Choice from 2011 to 2016, and was the past President of the Public Choice Society from 2016 to 2018. He has published numerous articles in prestigious journals and contributed to various academic compilations on constitutional law and governance.
