Biography

George Baravdish is a Senior Associate Professor and Head of the Mathematics Unit in the Department of Science and Technology at Linköping University. With a PhD received in 1995 under the supervision of Professor V. G. Maz'ya, his work primarily revolves around ill-posed inverse problems. His research investigates unique solutions that depend continuously on input data in the context of mathematical models and their applicability to real-world scenarios, particularly within fields such as machine learning, signal processing, and computer vision. Baravdish has also contributed significantly to the mathematical theory of these problems, including applications involving optimization models for image enhancement and the reconstruction of 3D objects using advanced technologies. He has supervised numerous doctoral students and has been the main applicant or co-applicant on 15 research grants. Baravdish’s ongoing projects continue to explore the depths of mathematics in solving complex analytical problems.
