Biography

Dr. George Charames is a board-certified clinical molecular geneticist serving as the Director and Head of the Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at Mount Sinai Hospital's Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine. His approach includes using high-throughput genomic sequencing and biomarker discovery technologies to enhance precision medicine. Additionally, Dr. Charames has established significant collaborations in the field of proteomics and biomarker discovery, aiming to identify novel biomarkers for breast cancer diagnostics and improve patient care through the implementation of new genomic technologies.
