Biography

I am interested in how the brain gives rise to the mind. From the perspective of a cognitive scientist, my goal is to understand the mind sufficiently to implement a computer program. I prefer modeling frameworks that integrate neurobiological constraints; hence, my primary research interest lies in neural networks. This area is part of a larger problem concerning how the brain infuses sensory input with meaning; I focus on how knowledge is acquired, represented, and computed. My past research primarily centered on computing the meanings of words, utilizing stimuli that are rich in meaning, and generally, I am interested in how knowledge is acquired and utilized to achieve goals.
