Professor Dr. George Fletcher

Biography

George Fletcher is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he chairs the Database Group in the Data and Artificial Intelligence Cluster. His main research area is data systems, with a focus on the social aspects of data systems and the theoretical engineering foundations of query schema languages. He is currently investigating data systems in educational management, as well as graph data, social networks, knowledge graphs, biological networks, and communication networks. In addition to his teaching and research, George serves as an executive board member of the EDBT Association and is an associate editor for the ACM SIGMOD Record Transactions on Graph Data Knowledge. He has a rich academic background with graduate work at Indiana University Bloomington, where he defended his PhD in computer science, and completed his undergraduate studies in mathematics and cognitive science at the University of North Florida.
