Biography

George Fox is a Professor of Medicine specializing in Respirology at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at MUN in 1979 and graduated from medical school at MUN in 1983. He further obtained a Master's in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Western Ontario in 1994. Throughout his career, Professor Fox has been actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as in Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development. He has held numerous prestigious positions including past Director of the Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development program at MUN and past Chair of the Accreditation Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. His hospital appointments include active staff roles in Internal Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine at Eastern Health. Research interests include Point of Care Ultrasound, where he has developed and delivered educational courses at MUN. Fox has received multiple accolades for his contributions to medicine and medical education over the years.
