Biography

George Meszaros is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, where he serves as Course Director for the LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights. His research primarily focuses on socio-legal studies, with a particular interest in public law and judicial review. He has extensively studied land rights, social movements, and anti-corruption studies, particularly in the contexts of Brazil, China, the UK, and Russia. His work examines the political economy surrounding corruption and the legal responses to these issues. George holds a BA in Political Science from Sussex University, an M.Phil in Latin American Studies from Glasgow University, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the London School of Economics. He is open to supervising PhD proposals that relate to land issues in Latin America, especially those that examine the intersection of social movements and legal change. Additionally, he is interested in proposals that critically evaluate anti-corruption movements and their relationship with constitutional and political processes.
