Biography

George H. Sack, Jr. M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University. He founded and currently directs the Johns Hopkins Executive Health Program as Medical Director. Dr. Sack earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Johns Hopkins University and is board-certified in Clinical Genetics and a founding fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. He is an active member of the American Society of Human Genetics and the International Society of Amyloidosis, among others. His research interests focus on the application of molecular techniques to study human pathophysiology, with a recent emphasis on the characterization of human amyloid genes and their biological functions. Dr. Sack has published 125 articles, with key recent publications discussing serum amyloid proteins and their implications in human health.
