Dr. George Voulgaris

Biography

George Voulgaris is an Associate Professor in Accounting at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He specializes in corporate governance, executive characteristics, sustainability, and financial disclosures, emphasizing intersections in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and institutional accountability. George has published in several leading international journals, including Human Relations, European Accounting Review, British Accounting Review, and Corporate Governance: International Review, where he also serves as an editor. He has maintained an international profile through visiting appointments at NYU Stern, Hanken School of Economics, and currently at the University of Vaasa as a Visiting Professor of Accounting. Additionally, he is actively involved in global research networks, regularly presenting at major conferences such as EAA, AAA, and CAAA ICGS. His extensive teaching experience spans undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, where he has led the design of core modules in Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting, and supervises PhD and MSc students. George is also a member of the ICAS Research Panel and the European Accounting Association External Relations Committee, and serves on the editorial board of Accounting & Business Research.
