Biography

George Williams completed his MChem at the University of Bath in 2016. Following his degree, he worked under the supervision of Professors Toby Jenkins and Tony James, in collaboration with Dr. Mark Sutton from Public Health England, designing sensors and drug delivery systems for antimicrobial applications. He subsequently held a postdoctoral position at the University of Kent, working with Professor Jen Hiscock on supramolecular antimicrobials. In December 2020, George moved to the University of Birmingham to work with Professor John Fossey, focusing on designing template-driven methods to identify receptors for complex saccharide biomarkers. In 2022, he was awarded the Pancreatic Cancer UK Career Foundation Fellowship at the University of Southampton, subsequently joining as a Senior Research Fellow in December 2022. His current research focuses on the interface of supramolecular materials and chemistry, particularly related to cancer drug delivery.
