Biography

George Yip is a Professor of Marketing Strategy and an Emeritus Professor at Imperial College London. He serves as the Associate Dean for Executive Programmes and is a Member of the Management Board at the Imperial College Business School. His academic positions have included Professor of Strategy and Co-Director of the Centre for China Innovation at the China Europe International Business School, and Dean of the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. Yip has also held significant roles at Harvard, UCLA, Cambridge Judge, and the London Business School, where he was the Beckwith Professor of Marketing Strategy and Associate Dean for the MBA programme. He is a Lead Senior Fellow at the UK’s Advanced Institute of Management Research and has been on the Editorial Advisory Board of the MIT Sloan Management Review. His extensive experience includes serving as Vice President and Director of Research & Innovation at Capgemini Consulting, and in managerial roles at Price Waterhouse and Unilever. Yip has authored multiple influential books and articles, including 'Pioneers, Hidden Champions, Change Makers Underdogs' and 'China’s Strategic Advantage: Imitation Innovation'. His current research focuses on innovation in China.
