Georges Beaudoin is a professor of metallogeny, recognized for his significant contributions to fundamental research on the isotopic geochemistry of hydrothermal systems and the development of methodologies using indicator minerals in exploration. In 2012, he was awarded the NSERC-Agnico Eagle Industrial Research Chair in mineral exploration to develop new exploration tools using indicator minerals. He served as the editor-in-chief (2012-2022) of the international scientific journal Mineralium Deposita, which has the highest impact factor in the field. He was elected President (2013-2015) of the Society of Geology Applied Mineral Deposits (SGA).
