Biography

Georges Monette received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Toronto in 1980. His work primarily involves providing statistical consulting services at York University, where he has offered support in statistical services to academic clients across various disciplines. Over the past twenty years, his research has focused on hierarchical longitudinal models and he has been actively involved in graduate courses, workshops, and seminar series. Monette has gained considerable experience applying statistics to social issues, particularly through his work on pay equity since the early 1990s. In the spring of 2000, he organized a summer program on data analysis at York University, providing intensive training in hierarchical longitudinal data analysis to researchers across Canada. He has held the position of coordinator for the statistical consulting service and served as Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
