Biography

Georgia Ann Lazo is the Associate Dean for University Partnership Schools at UCLA, bringing extensive experience in educational leadership and school administration. Since joining UCLA full-time in 2018, she has held a variety of roles including Principal of the UCLA Lab School and Director of Instruction at LAUSD, where she supervised and coached 15 principals overseeing educational programs for over 10,000 students. Lazo has been instrumental in developing curricular programs in STEM, Dual Language, Linked Learning, and Visual and Performing Arts. Additionally, she has served as the founding principal of the UCLA Community School, which exemplifies a unique partnership between LAUSD and UCLA. She also co-instructs in the Principal Leadership Institute, influencing future educational leaders. Outside of her professional work, Lazo contributes her time volunteering in educational activities for youth at a migrant shelter in Tijuana, Mexico. Her diverse interests include reading, running, dancing, and baking.
