Biography

Georgia Virginia Panopoulou joined the Chalmers faculty in the division of Astronomy and Plasma Physics in spring 2023. She obtained her PhD from the University of Crete in Greece. Prior to her appointment at Chalmers, she worked at Caltech from 2017 to 2022 as a NASA Hubble postdoctoral fellow. Her research interests lie in observational astrophysics, focusing on the interstellar medium and star formation. She employs data from a variety of telescopes in conjunction with statistical methods to investigate the perplexing effects of magnetic fields on galaxy evolution.
