Biography

Gina Dimitropoulos is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary and serves as the Research Lead for the Calgary Eating Disorders Program. She is a Full Member of both the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and the Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education. Dimitropoulos holds the University of Calgary Research Excellence Chair in transdisciplinary research aimed at improving youth mental health services. She has over 25 years of clinical experience in community-based settings and has made significant contributions through her research on Eating Disorders, Youth Mental Health, and Health Services Research. As an award-winning clinician and researcher, she has published more than 160 peer-reviewed articles and has attracted over 10 million in funding. Dimitropoulos has received prestigious awards such as the Killam Graduate Supervision Mentorship Award and the Child Abuse Prevention Inspiration Award. She is actively involved in mentoring early career researchers and collaborating on innovative health interventions.
