Biography

Originally from Kamchatka, Georgy graduated from Novosibirsk State University in 2010 with honors. He earned a PhD degree cum laude from TU Eindhoven in 2015, under the supervision of Alexander Khasin. Following this, he completed a two-year postdoctoral tenure at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology in Japan, working with Julia Khusnutdinova. Georgy received a personal NWO Veni Grant to start his independent research career alongside Evgeny Pidko's group. In September 2022, he established the Functional Polymers Sensors group in the Materials Science Engineering Department at Delft University of Technology. His research focuses on developing molecules capable of describing the internal structure of polymers and tracking their responses to mechanical and environmental stimuli. The ultimate goal is to enhance the understanding of polymers and facilitate their design. In addition to sensing topics, Georgy also works on aspects of polymer synthesis and conversion, leveraging longstanding collaborations with experts in catalysis throughout the Netherlands.
