Biography

Gerard Damiani is an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Architecture where he has served since 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University, graduating with honors and receiving the James Britton Medal for his thesis. As a registered architect in New York and Pennsylvania since 1990, he founded his practice, studio d'ARC architects, in 1996. Over his career, Damiani has taught design and architecture courses at Syracuse University, Kansas State University, and Carnegie Mellon, contributing to the education of future architects through various design studios and drawing courses. He was tenured as an Associate Professor in 2017, and has participated in multiple committees within Carnegie Mellon and other institutions. Damiani is committed to integrating technical aspects of professional architecture into his teaching, fostering a connection between academic and practice-based learning.
