Dr. Gerard Drenth

Biography

Gerard Drenth is an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where he teaches strategy and scenario-based custom programmes. He is a partner at NormannPartners, an international strategy consulting company focused on scenario-based strategy work. In his role with NormannPartners, Gerard engages in business innovation projects across various sectors, including higher education, high tech, media, finance, development banking, energy, automotive, mining, climate change, and international development aid. Before joining NormannPartners in 2011, he served as a Vice President in Morgan Stanley's European Strategy Group, advising clients on strategic risks and opportunities. Gerard spent over a decade with Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he directed strategic development and operations in the EMEA region. His early career includes extensive experience with Shell, where he was part of the global scenarios team and served as Scenario Manager in London. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has an MBA from London Business School, along with an MSc in Computer Science and Operational Research from VU University Amsterdam. Gerard is also a sought-after speaker at institutions such as Imperial College London and Cambridge University, and has conducted executive education for clients like Royal Mail Group and BMW.
