Biography

Gerben Ruessink is a Professor and Director of Research specializing in Wave-Dominated Coastal Morphodynamics at Utrecht University. His research primarily focuses on understanding the dynamics of sandy coasts, including the interaction of beach-dune systems, coastal safety measures, dune vegetation, bio-geomorphology, and sand dune restoration. Ruessink is actively involved in investigating the natural and human-impacted dynamics of sandy beaches and dunes and their response to interactions with waves, wind, sand, and vegetation.
