Professor Gerhard Kramer conducts research in telecommunications technology and information theory, focusing on the applications of radio, telephone, and fiber optic channels. In 2009, he assumed a professorship at the University of Southern California and in 2010, he held the position of Alexander von Humboldt Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He has also served as the Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation since October 2019.
