Biography

Germán Campos Muñoz completed his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Pennsylvania State University. His research interrogates the reception and transformation of Greco-Roman classics within Latin American literature and culture. In his book, Classics South America: Five Case Studies (Bloomsbury, 2021), he proposes a transhistorical study of receptions, examining five case studies selected from key cultural and political moments spanning the early and late colonial periods, the emancipatory era, and the 20th and 21st centuries. He has published articles on this topic in venues such as Dieciocho, Hispanic Review, and Latin American Research Review. Additional research and teaching interests include the disciplinary histories of world comparative literature and literary theory and criticism.
