Biography

Gerry McNamara is the John H. McConnell Professor of Management at Michigan State University. He obtained his PhD from the University of Minnesota. His research examines the effects of leader attributes, organizational characteristics, market pressures, strategic perceptions, impression management actions, and strategic decisions. McNamara is a co-author of the textbook "Strategic Management: Creating Competitive Advantages" alongside Greg Dess, Alan Eisner, and Steve Sauerwald. He has also served as a Senior Editor for macro-organizational research in the Journal of Management and previously held the position of Associate Editor for both the Academy of Management Journal and the Strategic Management Journal.
