Dr. Gerry Van Der Kamp Alons

Biography

Gerry van der Kamp-Alons is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Agri-Food Governance in the Department of Political Science at Radboud University. His research addresses ideational variables, norms, policy frames, and paradigms that influence state preferences in foreign policy. He focuses on global food policy governance from a political economy perspective, emphasizing sustainability objectives and integrated policies. His extensive expertise includes the EU's Common Agricultural Policy and related trade negotiations involving Free Trade Agreements and the World Trade Organization. Gerry's work has been published in esteemed international journals such as the Journal of European Public Policy and West European Politics. In addition to his role at Radboud University, he has served as a knowledge coordinator for the Committee on European Affairs of the Dutch House of Parliament, advocating for the integration of research results into societal debates and policy-making. He is also involved in editorial and coordination roles within various academic networks, focusing on European politics and food policy governance.
